Classroom Courses
How can we make classroom based training more effective?
People remember pictures not words; they remember phrases and movies, they remember by having the learning reinforced – and they learn more if they’re having fun. We utilise, and are resellers for, Turning Technology’s ’Turning Points’ interactive keypads. We set questions throughout the course, which the delegates answer in real time – not in a stressful written test at the end. Every delegate’s scores are recorded in a database so that we can assess each person at the end (during the course too if you wish). And it’s so simple to use, working directly inside PowerPoint.

These small devices add so much to a learning session:
- Competition – by the end of a session there is a lively competition going on
- Instant feedback – the percentages of correct and incorrect answers come up on the screen after everyone has answered. If most of the delegates get the answer wrong, the teacher has failed and can review the material, if most get it right the teacher can move on. If half get the answer right, the material can be reviewed and a new slightly different question instantly added in.
- Less dozing after lunch – Teachers can get their own back after years of snoozing at the back of the classroom! It is immediately apparent if someone hasn’t answered, but in any case the competition usually keeps people awake.

They’re simply fun!
