Introduction to Hydraulics: Needle Valve
Part of one of our e-Learning course Introduction to Hydraulics for the oil and gas industry was to provide a visual display of the flow through a needle valve. We achieved this by creating a needle valve animation using flash.
The animation shows a typical flow control valve called a needle valve. You can see how the pointed stem will restrict the flow as it is turned down and increase the flow when it is turned up. This regulation of the flow, for example, could determine the speed at which a device will operate.
